Best Friend's Birthday!
I have a friend who I’ve know basically all my life lol. We went from attending dance class together since the age of 4, to going to the same high school, to attending the same college (for a year before she transferred and went to Howard), to talking everyday in our group chat with my other best friend, hey girlsss!
Her birthday was the beginning of this month and her bf reached out weeks ahead of time to plan a fun filled weekend for her in NY since she currently resides in DC. The iteneray for Friday was dinner at Del Frisco’s! I’ve never been there but I’ve always wanted to try, so after work I sped home, got ready and headed back out to the City for links and drinks lol. Of course I was the last person to arrive, but I sat down and we started to order.
OMG BEST STEAK EVERRRR! Medium well of course, but I ordered the steak medallion meal which came with string beans and mashed potatoes and we as a group ordered lobster Mac and cheese, creamed spinach and sweet potatoes. When I tell you that I am still thinking about that meal to this day!! I ate just enough and took some home for lunch the next day to relive my wonderful experience. I def recommend this restaurant maybe for lunch though because they have some cheaper options lol.
Saturday night arrives, the plan was to pregame at my friend’s hotel, and take a party bus to the club that night where we had a section. I was actually on time tonight, but that might be because I lived literally a block away from their hotel. While my friend got ready, we turned up until the bus came and we headed downstairs. I just want to mention that this whole weekend was a surprise so my friend thought we were getting in a cab until we got downstairs and she saw this nice ass bus waiting for us. She was so excited so we got on and started to turn up while heading to the club.
The club we went to was called Taj Lounge. I didn’t know it until we made it in, but I had actually been there before. Now since we had a table we went straight inside, but of course as most establishments do in the winter, they had mandatory coat check for $5. Now I’m not mad at that, make your money the best way you know how, so I checked in my coat got my ticket and headed to the security woman so I could be checked before heading in. The woman does her thing, then checks my clutch. “You can’t bring these in.”, she’s talking about my flats. “You mean my flats, but what if my feet start to hurt?” She tells me I have to check them. I’m so annoyed at this point but whatever, I go back to the coat check and try to hand in my ticket to put my shoes with my coat, and you know what? The attendant points to a sign that says $5 per item. Are they nuts?!!! My friend got so pissed she threw the flats at them and we went inside the party.
Now these rollup flats cost nothing much so I would be damned if I checked them in for $5, I’ll just get another pair. But I didn’t want to cause a big commotion so whatever they got thrown out. I will say that I will NEVER go to that club again, they are too high and mighty for me and I refuse to be treated like that again.
After partying the night away we headed back to the hotel on the party bus and it’s safe to say we had a good time especially my friend since she was knocked out on the way home for the evening. To see more from the night take a look below!
