Home Chef - Marsala Mushroom Smothered Bone-In Pork Chop

Home Chef - Marsala Mushroom Smothered Bone-In Pork Chop

Hey Slayers!!

Taking a break from my many burger recipes from Home Chef, I am switching things up with another fave menu item of mine…pork chops! This week I made Marsala Mushroom Smothered Bone-In Pork Chop with rosemary scented green beans. I decided to try this meal option since it is described as calorie & carb conscious and I have to say that it was really good (especially after seasoning the chops like I did 😊).

The ingredients included:

  • Bone-in Pork Chops

  • Butter

  • Chicken Demi-Glace

  • Cremini Mushrooms

  • Garlic Cloves

  • Green Beans

  • Marsala Cooking Wine

  • Pot Roast Seasoning

  • Rosemary Sprig

Following the wonderful recipe sheet provided to me by Home Chef, I first started by prepping the chops (seasoning with my own spices and the pot roast seasoning that was included), mincing the garlic, cutting and seasoning the mushrooms and trimming the ends of the green beans before seasoning. Then I proceeded to cook the chops. I added 1 tsp. olive oil to the pan and cooked for 7 minutes on each side before removing from the pan so I could move on to the next step.

Using the same pan, I added 1 tsp. olive oil again before the mushrooms and half of the minced garlic. I allowed the mushrooms to cook while stirring every so often for 4 minutes. Next I added the marsala wine and let it cook until it was mostly evaporated. Then I added in the demi-glace and ¼ cup of water and let it boil before removing from the burner.

While my mushrooms were cooking I used another pan for the green beans. I added 1 tsp. of olive oil (I see a pattern here lol) and the other half of the minced garlic which I cooked for 30-60 seconds. I then added in the green beans and the rosemary sprig and stirred until the beans were coated in the oil before I added 2 Tbsp. of water, covered and kept heat at medium. Next was just making sure I stirred the pot every so often for 8-10 minutes before voila I was done!

I decided to make this as my first meal in the week since it took the least amount of time and didn’t involve having to use the oven. It really was a quick meal to whip up and enjoyable.
