Virgin Voyages Cruise Day 2
Here we are for day 2 which is the first full day on the ship. Tess and I started the day off with heading to breakfast in the Galley (the equivalent of the buffet area on other ships). The galley differs in the fact that you can walk around and look at the different food options that are available, but instead of standing on line to serve yourself you sit down at a table and someone will come to take your order and bring your food. You do serve yourself any drinks you are interested in. My blog besties know I need my coffee in the morning, so that was definitely my first thought. Regular coffee and tea is included with your sailing, but if you want specialized caffeinated drinks (cappuccinos, Frappuccinos, etc.) you will be charging those purchases to your bar tab. Virgin Voyages does not have drink packages, instead they offer bar tabs in $300 increments. You can share this bar tab with whoever you want on the voyage.
For breakfast this morning I ordered a ham and cheese omelet, bacon, hash browns and French toast and I was so happy that the food service was off to a great start because it was so good! I also charged two iced coffees for us both to our bar tab. After eating we slowly headed back to the rooms to get ready for the day. Seeing as this was an "At Sea Day”, we signed up for some activities on the ship. You can do all registering for activities and book reservations for the restaurants through the Virgin Voyages app on your phone. Today we booked a rest to Razzle Dazzle for a late lunch. Razzle Dazzle is the vegan centered restaurant on the ship. Don’t worry, there are some options for people who aren’t vegan on what they company calls the Naughty side of the menu. I had a berryatric smoothie, a fried chicken sandwich and fries. This meal was just okay. The smoothie was good, but we figured out that we were the last seating before they closed to prep for dinner and it kind of felt like they were just ready to get everyone out quickly. For instance, my burger was supposed to come with a black bun and I got a regular bun instead. For dessert Tess got their loaded cookies and I got rainbow churros with ube ice cream. Now the dessert was hitting and def something to look forward to if eating at this restaurant.
After Razzle Dazzle, we headed to get some drinks (of course lol), before going to the Drag Queen show. We were on time, but seats were already full so we headed to the balcony and luckily found a cocktail table and two stools to watch the show. The performance was fun and interactive and allowed for crowd participation. I had such a good time and the finale performance was Ev-ery-thing!!
When the show was over we changed into our swimsuits and made our way to the pool for a bit after getting some more drinks. After chillin’ in the pool we went to the galley. Yesss I know eating again lol, but I was determined to get all I could out of this free trip lol. After that blah burger earlier, I was hoping the burger in the galley would be better and it so made up for it. After eating we went back to the room to relax before dinner that night.
Dinner that night was at Extra Virgin the Italian restaurant on board. I was so excited to eat here because I LOVEEEE Italian food, but I was still a little full from the rest of the eating I did in the day lol. I ordered fried calamari and spaghetti all vongole. It was soo good, so I ate what I could. I will say that it was freezing in the restaurant and from that dinner on we made sure to take something light to cover up just in case.
The night was still young so we headed to watch the band, Undecided Future perform. They always put on a good show whenever they performed on board. Once their session ended we headed to the Late Night Party in the nightclub before calling it a night.
