Black Monday

Hey Slayerssss! Let me tell you guys about this event hosted by Vulture x Showtime that I went to on Wednesday with my co-worker. There is a new show that will be premiering on Showtime called Black Monday. The show stars Don Cheadle, Regina Hall, and Andrew Rannells and is based on the worst stock market crash in the history of Wall Street that happened in 1987.

I think it was because we were so excited, that we didn’t read the details about the actual event, but we assumed it was a screening for the first episode or two of the show (turned out it wasn’t). The event was held at Harry’s NYC in the city, which I never even knew existed but it was a nice change of pace. We knew we wanted to get there early so we could be in the front of the line but little did we know we would get there at 5:30pm and be first in line lol, the event wasn’t supposed to start until 7:00pm!!! 

The venue had a bomb ass old school car parked out front and furs for people to throw on and take pics in front of (wearing a fur everybody else had on already isn’t my thing so I declined, plus it was freezing I just wanted to get inside lol). Right before we went in my co-worker’s friend made it and joined us in line. Right at 7 they let us into the venue and checked us in and we found a table before heading to the bar. There were a bunch of drinks being offered on the menu as well as a special drink called the MRKT CRSH which was made with Gin, Creme de Mure, and Pressed Lemon.

Pretty soon after starting on the drinks the staff started bringing out bites including chicken truffle salad, mozzarella, beef wellington and my fave…french fries. After an hour we started to wonder when the actual screening would begin and so I scanned the details of the invite and there was no mention of a screening, all the invite said was that we would join them in a celebration of the new show. But I mean at this point I was not complaining, free drinks and food who would? I stayed until about 9:15 ish and then called an Uber home. It was a cute little event and I had a good turn up on a Wednesday lol. Black Monday premieres this Sunday at 10pm Eastern on Showtime. To view more from the event see some pics below.
