Passport to Iron City - Alita Experience
Hey Slayerrrs! I was able to score some free tickets to the Passport to Iron City - Alita Experience pop up in Williamsburg and I met up with some friends to attend. Now don’t hurt me but I know nothing about Alita, I do know the movie just came out but I haven’t seen it as of yet. There were a couple of people on my team who were fans so it felt good knowing we could have some kind of advantage (later I found out that knowledge didn’t mean too much lol).
One of my friends met me at my house and we took a cab together and once we arrived we waited for our other friend inside. She ended up being stuck in traffic so unfortunately, we had to go in without her. After being introduced to our group in the Kansas Bar, we looked around and realized that there were 2 other groups, one with children so we just knew we had it in the bag.
Once we were led to the back there were different stations set up and we were introduced to the rules and the game started. Our first stop was the market station where we had to reach into different paper bags and try to guess what was inside. The items were all food items so don’t worry nothing was moving. We were able to work as a team and we got all of the items correct. On the next station, we each were given a list of qualities and one person was matched to each. There was a test for each quality (best listener, most detailed, etc.) and after completing each we were given our points and moved to the next station.
Back to the market we went but this time we had to smell fragrances and try to guess what each scent was. Again, these were food items, it was a bit hard but we got them all and on to the next station we went. We arrived at the scrap metal yard where we had to find items that had points worth 3,000 or more to give to the scrap leader. Of course, we found enough items valued that high and we were good to go. Last station we arrived to was for the Rollerball game where we had to wager our points up to 50,000 and that would determine the final winner. Our team decided on 30,000 and as a mini game we went on to find our badge matches which could be anybody playing the game. My match happened to be the nicest little boy who was so excited to be playing so we were able to cash in together and earn more points. By the time we were finished Rollerball was ready to begin. We all ran to the station and watched the game progress. Our guy won wooohooo! We all ran back to the point screen and we realized that we still ended up losing by 10 points. I was a little mad until I realized that the little boy who was my match and his team won the game. He was jumping up and down and was so excited so that made the win not as bad lol. They gave him and his team a coin worth 10,000 points and the game was over.
We thanked the people working the event and walked out to a little gift shop area that had tables as well as a photo booth. We all know I love photo booths so my friend and I hopped over there. This photo booth ended up having props based on Alita including a metal arm, eye patch, hand and more. We got a picture and a boomerang and the lighting was impeccable lol. After taking our pics, we walked to the bar area where we waited for our friend. She was able to get into the next group of visitors and we were excited to hear about her experience. After a few she made her way out and we all discussed our time in the pop up while walking to taste some vegan pizza for the first time. We headed to Screamers pizza a place my friend heard about which wasn’t so bad. After she had a slice we headed next door to Van Luuwens where she got some vegan ice cream while I had regular and we sat and had some convo. After hopping in an Uber back to my place we watched some vintage episodes of RHOA before they left to go home. We def made a day of it and it was fun.
