O.M. Gelato
Hey Slayerrsss! I’m back again, you guys get a 2 for 1 special this week. I was very lucky to score tickets to the Talenti Spooneasy (celebrating their new gelato flavors ice cream) event this week and when I say lucky, I mean that. The Spooneasy was a spin on a speakeasy which I’ve always wanted to experience. Tickets were sold out quicker than I could blink, but I was able to scoop up a set for Wednesday 7-8 PM. I was constantly refreshing the screen all day on Wednesday hoping a 6 PM slot opened and it finally did at 4:55 PM. I sent a text to my friend to let him know that I was able to get tickets to the earlier time slot and I would meet him there. I got there in about 20 minutes and ended up being second in line after checking in and receiving my drink token. My friend got there about 5 minutes to 6 PM which worked out perfectly.
They let the first six people in of which I happened to be included and we walked through what was presented as a tattoo shop before a hidden door in the wall was opened to a hallway with beautiful lights and shapes of ice-cream. As we made our way through, there was a hostess waiting for us and she introduced us to the event and directed us to the Jar-Tenders (bartenders shelling out Talenti). Our Jar-Tender showed us the menu and let us know that each person received a flight of three different flavors. The flavors included Vanilla Fudge Cookie, Black Raspberry Vanilla Parfait, Peanut Butter Vanilla Fudge, Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake, Salted Caramel Truffle, Dark Chocolate Cherry, and Mint Fudge Cookie. Since we were together the best plan of action would be to each get three diff flavors. and the last flavor, Salted Caramel Truffle, would be given to everybody in a jar as a takeaway. He took my name and told us to head into the lounge, grab a seat, and participate in some of the activities.
My friend and I made a beeline for the lounge, found a table and sat our coats down before heading to the photo booth. It is always photo booth season for me and we had the best time creating a cute little video. After dancing away with prop jars of Talenti, we got on line to receive spoons with custom engraving. At the engraving table visitors could pick up a notecard and either choose a preselected phrase listed on the card or create a custom saying. I chose to go with O.M.Gelato! After receiving our spoons, my name was called because our flights were ready for us at the table.
We sat down and dug in, I must say besides the Salted Caramel Truffle which came in the cute little jar, the Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake was my fave. My friend preferred the Mint Fudge Cookie, but all the flavors were good. Soon after the waitress came around with some drink options in exchange for our token, and I went with the Raspberry Prosecco while my friend went with the non-alcoholic drink since he gave up alcohol for Lent. Then it was picture time and after getting a few good pics in we received our Salted Caramel Truffle jar before we said goodnight and headed home.
I just want to say that Talenti did the damn thing with this event. Yes, it was quick because of the hour limit but there was just enough to do in that amount of time to enjoy yourself. Also, I now have a dedicated gelato spoon that I am still not sure I want to ever use because it is just too pretty lol.
