Smirnoff's House of Pride

Smirnoff's House of Pride

Hey Slayerss!!! It’s been a tough two weeks for me dealing with some personal issues, but I’m back 😊! The last week in June, I went to a Pride event held by Smirnoff called the House of Pride. There were two sessions on Friday June 28th, and I opted for the first session right after work since it was in Soho and I could get there in no time. The actual event took place in a series of garages on the sidewalk which was cool because it allowed people who didn’t get to RSVP to walk by and still see what was going on as well as take pics.

Before going in, everybody had their ID checked and received one drink ticket then we were allowed entry through the “front door”. Of course, I headed towards the food first because, why not? Lol. The food was in The Backyard room which was the color green. In this room there was a table full of hors d’oeuvres and a cute little swing for the perfect IG boomerang. This room was described as a garden with swings, food and cute neon signs that make for great pics.

After eating I decided to go through the rooms in order and started at The Boudoir, or in other words the red bedroom which had a prop bed in an upright position for a cool photo opp. The bedroom centralized around the idea that you can climb into bed with whoever you want, no matter who you love or what you like.

The next room that I entered was The Kitchen which was the color orange. This room actually allowed you to use your one drink ticket , which I did, for a spiked lemonade. The kitchen was described as the room for you to stop by and grab a little something that the house mother whipped up.

Next up was the Vanity room which was the color yellow. The vanity was described as the room to throw on a frock and get your face beat. The room had a mirror for visitors to pose in front of, or get their makeup done and play a little bit of dress up.

Next up was the Home Bar room which was the color blue. The Home Bar was just what the title described, a bar. If you didn't get a drink in the kitchen, then you could use your drink ticket in this room. This room did have a bit more options or drinks to choose from but no biggie since I enjoyed my lemonade. This room was described as the bar serving drinks from all over the world to make the international LGBTQIA+ community feel right at home.

Lastly was the Living Room otherwise known as the purple room which was a giant dance floor. The room allowed visitors to get their lives on the dance floor and celebrate 50 years of progress while grooving to the future of the LGBTQIA+ movement.

As you can see, this wasn't a huge event but still fun and inviting none the less. I had a great time, learned a bit and got cute pics at the same time. Smirnoff really did a good job with this. Til next time and just remember that you are always Welcome Home!
