My Summer Diet is Just Rosé and Calamari

My Summer Diet is Just Rosé and Calamari

Hey Slayersss!! Guess who went back to the Rosé Mansion this year? Ya girl did, and this year it was bigger and better than last year. The mansion moved to a new location with more rooms, new experiences and wines to taste in each room. Keep reading so that I can tell you about the pop up.

My friend and her mom traveled up from Virginia for her mom’s birthday to celebrate over the weekend. We planned to visit the Rosé Mansion on Saturday morning and we ended up getting tickets for the first time slot at 11 AM. This year the brand moved to the Manhattan Mall, when you enter you have to show your ID then proceed to the 2nd floor where you walk down a hallway to a big open pink room. In this room there is coat check to the front, three pay phones for pics to the right and some other pic friendly moments that are setup like an airport. After taking a few pics you check in and then sign a waiver on an iPad. I’m not going to lie, but I did do a double take and wonder why a waiver needed to be signed, but I guess better safe than sorry for the business.

We were then led into the next room as a group where we were shown a video based on the safety instruction video that you would see on an airplane (obviously, this year the pop up was based on flying). The first room after the video was a vineyard where you move down a walkway, but of course we danced lol, into a room full of oversized, purple balls. These balls symbolized grapes, which are relevant in wine making of course, before we moved on to an attendant. The attendant explained what we were going to experience in the pop up before giving each of us a branded Rosé Mansion wine glass that was shatterproof and that we got to keep at the end of the day.

Our first tasting was in that same room, which was setup like a science classroom. We were walked through a chart that taught us how wine is made before we each got a sip. The wine in this room was dry and therefore not my type, but none the less as my friends and I always say, “we don’t waste no liquor” lol. After tasting, there was a shelf with beakers and other science materials as well as a blackboard that outlined the process of fermentation. In the hallway before the next room were multiple scratch & sniff booths with different clues, so you could guess the scent. This was a cute little picture opp before the next room.

Next up was the Cleopatra Room, one of my fave rooms not necessarily because of the décor but because of the wine we tasted in this room. Of course, there were a couple of Instragrammable features such as two thrones and a chaise lounge, where my friend and her fiancé took the cutest boomerang and he fed her grapes, but the wine in this room was the star. Like my good sis Saweetie, sweet wine is my type and this tasting took the cake. It was so good that I wrote the name down, so I can buy a bottle for home 😊. (In case you are interested the wine was Rosa Regale Sparkling Red.)

Moving on to the next room, I don’t even know what to call it, but it was very colorful lol. Our group walked in with the energy, ahkayy?! The attendant in this room did warn us that this was another dry wine and we would be tasting this with a sour gummy worm alter the taste. We were told that if we preferred sweet wine, there would be another tasting coming up for us two rooms ahead. I did taste this dry wine, because hello, I paid for this lol but def wasn’t my fave. Before leaving this room, there were different set of ribbons reminiscent of ribbon twirling in gymnastics that made for a cute boomerang which you can see below.

Walking into the next room, I was reminded of the Museum of Illusions pop up which I visited last year. There was a tasting of another dry wine in this room which I almost missed because we were trying to figure out how to take a picture that would best show off the illusion in this room. I will say that this was probably one of the rooms that we spent a good amount of time in because everyone, including other visitors to the pop up, was waiting to get a pic. After we partnered up we took our pics and moved on to the next room.

I will call this next room the Candyland room. It was super colorful, but I chose to do a video in this room versus a picture because the floor was setup like the Candyland game board. Based on the answers to the questions on the floor, your preferences led you down the path to the type of wine you would taste. Of course, I ended up with the super sweet wine (Red Electra Moscato). One last thing about this room that I found interesting was a sign on the wall that explained why a person would prefer sweet wines.

I think the next room was one of our faves, it was like a huge, old school dressing room with bright vanities, Vegas performer like headpieces, extravagant feather robes and a performance stage. If you don’t know, my friends and I loveeee the movie Dreamgirls and this was the perfect place to perform a scene straight out of the movie. After our little skit we did calm down long enough to get a pic before moving on to the next room.

Now last year, the bathtub room in the mansion was a big fave of visitors and this year they returned but with bigger energy. Thankfully, there were now three tubs versus one in the green room which def made the line move a bit more quickly. We all split up into diff lines so that we could finish sooner. If you were not paying attention you would’ve missed the wine tasting in this room as the station was towards the back, but I did get to indulge while waiting in line. After everyone was satisfied, onto the next room we went.

I will call the next room the Birthday Cake room, queue Rihanna “Cake”. The line in this room quickly got long. I didn’t necessarily need a pic in this room, but some people in our group did go for the boomerang which was really cute. On the right side of the cake, there were containers for you to pour confetti into your hands to throw while popping out of the cake. The line did nothing but continue to grow behind us so after a couple of people, we moved onto the final official room which held the ball pit.

The ball pit was fun and since I didn’t get to experience it last year when I wore heels, I hopped on in. If you have not attended yet, please be careful when entering the pit because there are a couple of crushed balls at the bottom which makes it a bit hard to walk. We made a video of us falling backwards into the balls, but then had to deal with trying to get up, which is extremely hard for a regular person yet alone for me at 5 ft 2 lol.

Leaving the last room led to a hallway which opened up into RoséLand where you can lounge, buy extra bottles of Rosé and tacos from Taco Dumbo. This year you can also rent a cabana in RoséLand to host private parties. this section also housed the famous chandelier swing which we waited in line for. I love the fact the RoséLand was bigger this year so more people can lounge around after the experience but, I will say that I do think the cabana area could’ve been livelier. If I am paying for this cabana in the exclusive section, I would like music to be playing and for it to be more lit. Def a cute idea but maybe some more thought should go into the specifics for these customers paying extra for that service. Before leaving we found some photo booths that we played around with. When you leave RoséLand you head down an escalator and end up in a gift shop where you can buy different Rosé Mansion branded items before walking through the mall to exit.

The second year of this pop up made for a different experience and again I believe I got my money’s worth. One of my fave pop ups from last year lived up to the hype again and I can’t wait to see what they come with next year. If you have visited the mansion this year, please let me know about your experience below or ask me any questions you may have about my visit. If you do plan on going, the Rosé Mansion is open until the end of September for $45 excluding taxes and service fees. However, if you do visit for what they consider Happy Hour which takes place on Monday, Wednesday & Thursday until 5:30 PM and Friday until 4:30 PM, you can get tickets for $35 excluding taxes and service fees. Tickets are available at the door as well but, only if they have tickets available, so buy online to ensure entry. Til’ next time Slayerss!
