I Was Born With It

I Was Born With It

Hey Slayersss! It’s that time of year again, NYFW! I kicked it off by attending the Maybelline House on Saturday with my PIC (Partner in Crime). This was my second year attending this cute pop up by the brand, so keep reading to learn more about my experience and in case you need a recap check out my Maybelline House experience from last year

First of all, can we talk about the outside of the experience? It was a cute cartoonish design with graffiti that looked like it was straight out of a tv show. Of course I got a couple of snaps out in front before heading inside.

As soon as we walked in, we were engrossed in darkness. There was a line to make a video where you’re caught spray painting a wall and then the camera. Not as advanced as other video booths that I have done but I can’t seem to ever ignore a pic/video booth lol. Watch it below and tell me what you think.

After walking through another door, we were presented with what I call the palette room. To the right of the door, there were iPads to take a quiz on. Based on your results of the quiz, visitors would take home a Maybelline eyeshadow Palette. This room featured a large wall of multiple textures that you could touch and play with. Upon closer inspection, I realized that this was actually a giant eyeshadow palette which was so creative to me.

Next we made it to the Ashley Longshore room which was of course mainly pink, my fave color :). There was a table in the center of the room that you could decorate with stickers, a chandelier made out of different lipstick shades and art by Ashley Longshore adorning the walls. Also guys, the natural lighting in this room was ever-y-thing!!

In this same room we got on line to get a free lipstick shade and that line was longggg, but in the middle of that line was a table where you could create your own custom color to take home. I didn’t get to participate in the custom shade activity because it was really crowded but also messy, so I passed it up. There was also a line for coffee with caffeine art. Now we all know I love my coffee, but I had my limit for the day already so I was good on it.

There was one last room which housed the tattoo studio. There was a couch in this room where you could get a “tattoo” by an artist using a Maybelline eye pencil. There was also another line to get winged up with eyeliner, there were three styles to choose from but I went with the most conservative lol. After your wing application you were given a choice of colors for a new eyeshadow shade to take home.

All in all the pop up was a cute stop in the mayhem of Fashion Week, not too big and overall but still a fun break. If you guys were able to hit the pop up this weekend let me know what you thought. If you visited any other NYFW events please let me know below, I would love to hear about the fun you had. Don’t forget to comment, like, subscribe and share!
