The Floral Escape & The Amazing Maize Maze

The Floral Escape & The Amazing Maize Maze

Hey Slayers!!

I’m back with another pop up. This weekend I attended The Floral Escape Pop Up & the Amazing Maize Maze at Queens Farm. I had tickets for the earliest time slot of 10 AM for the Floral Escape which gets you an hour inside of the exhibit. The maze is open from 11 AM until 4:30 PM and there is no set time slot since it will take you a bit to go through the maze itself.

We got our tickets scanned at the entrance for The Floral Escape which was gated off from the rest of the farm. As soon as we walked inside you could just walk right up to whichever sculpture you wanted to. There was no orderly waiting in lines and no set amount of time to take pictures by each sculpture.

I had both my camera and my iPhone because it is always easier to switch between both in certain instances. I found that my camera was fine for all of the pic opps except the hanging purple flowers which were casting a shadow with my cam, so i switched to my iPhone. I also waited in line for this sculpture because I wanted a specific spot under the purple flowers that someone else was using, I would say I waited about 15 minutes before they were done.

There was a Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) sculpture, elephants, a butterfly, a tractor and more photo elements to choose from. I ended up taking all the pics I wanted with about 10 minutes left before my time slot was over, so we started walking over to the maze. On the walk over we passed a little section with a couple of food trucks and some alpacas before reaching farmland leading up to the line for The Amazing Maize Maze sponsored by Con Edison.

I was both excited and nervous about going through the corn maze, I mean have you people ever seen Children of the Corn? Lol. We had to wait in line first, but leading up to the entrance there were signs with instructions to watch a YouTube video with directions for the scavenger hunt to take place inside the maze. The objective was to find nine puzzle pieces inside the maze and words to complete a crossword.

Once we checked in we received a paper with the crossword and a square to place our puzzle pieces on. The last step was to pick a flag staff for each group, so that they could find us if needed. Inside the maze was an employee standing on a tower to provide some clues and one employee on Victory Bridge, which was the end of the maze. We made our way inside the maze and just started looking for clues. We eventually found each puzzle piece as well as all crossword clues after following one path that led us all the way back to the beginning and starting over again. It took us about 1.5 hours to finish and get to Victory Bridge and it fell really good to make it.

I don’t have any rights to the music in the video below.

I know if I was alone I would’ve never been as confident, but knowing I had a partner made it less scary. There is also a night maze walk, but I def know that isn’t for me. For those of you thrill seekers this might be your thing. Although it isn’t meant to be scary being inside a corn maze at night is scary enough to me lol.

The Floral Escape is $14 during the week and $18 on weekends and is open until November 29th. Buy tickets to the Floral Escape. The Amazing Maize Maze tiks are $8 for kids and $12 for adults and is open until October 30th. Buy tickets for the Amazing Maize Maze
