NYC Restaurant Week
Hey y’all! So last week Friday I attended NYC Restaurant Week at Ruth’s Chris. If you don’t know about Restaurant Week it usually happens twice a year, once in the Winter and once in the Summer. The restaurants choose a couple of options from their main menu that they choose to offer during this promotion. You can choose three courses for lunch for $29 or 3 courses for dinner for $42.
I ended up going with a group of friends for dinner and I was so glad that we chose this restaurant because I love steakhouses. First thing first was ordering a drink, amaretto sour for me of course lol. For my appetizer I selected the Lobster Bisque. I normally go for the salad but decided to try something different, and boy am I glad I did, it tasted amazing. Soup can be really filling but it was just right with the right amount of lobster pieces inside and I couldn’t wait for my entree.
For my entree I chose the 8oz filet with a side of creamed spinach. Now another thing I love about this restaurant is that their sides are big portions which can be enough for sharing. So I had some mashed potatoes from my friend who also had the 8oz filet as well as some sweet potato casserole from my friend who had the stuffed chicken breast. The filet was cooked medium well, which has just a bit of pink inside and was very easily cut and juicy. Everything tasted amazing, but since I had the soup for my appetizer I was a little full and ended up saving half of my meal to go.
Lastly, desert was a piece of cheesecake with two chocolate pieces on the side. I’m usually not a fan of plain cheesecake but this piece was moist and decadent and the dark chocolate was nice and rich. I was very pleased with the meal up until the point where I received my left overs to take home. I looked in the bag and it was spilling everywhere. This to me said that my food was just thrown in the bag and not important to them. I asked the waiter for a new bag and he apologized but in my head the damage was done. I would def dine at Ruth’s Chris again but maybe I’ll try another location. Have any of you ever dined there or have you tried another restaurant for Restaurant Week?
