Dinner at Clyde's

Dinner at Clyde's

Hey Slayerss!

Last week, I visited Clyde Frazier’s Wine and Dine restaurant for the first time for a friend’s birthday dinner. I was excited to visit since there is an Instagrammable basketball court on the premises. Let me walk you through my night out.

If you don’t know, the restaurant is on 10th avenue in the middle of nowhere land in Manhattan. I absolutely HATE traveling to that side of town because MTA is very scarce in that area and there is a ton of walking involved. I opted to take a cab instead and ended up being the first person to arrive (gasp, I know!!). When I arrived, the place wasn’t very packed and there were only like 5 or 6 tables that were filled. I was told to sit on the side, at the bar or anywhere (the words of the hostess, not mine) lol. Besides this, the inside is huge and has a sports lounge look and feel. I took a seat and waited for the birthday boy to show up. He made it a few minutes later and we headed straight for the basketball court.

The court was backdrop ready, there was no need to find the correct lighting or work too hard to get the perfect picture. There are lights from behind the court wall that makes every pose look magical. This is probably the best part of the whole restaurant and why people make their way to visit.

Of course, I stepped into action and started our photoshoot. I will say that the best part of the restaurant not being packed is that we had more time to get pics in. When the rest of the party arrived, we got a group pic before we were seated. I ordered a Turkey Burger that came with French fries for $17.50 and a Mango Lemonade for $6.. The lemonade was really good but the burger, ehhh idk. The plate was big with plenty of fries and a huge burger, so huge I had to cut it into four pieces to tackle it. The only problem was that the burger was tasteless and bland. The restaurant did provide ketchup but the burger should’ve been seasoned as well. I ate two pieces of the burger and decided to take the rest home so that I could fix it up and have it for dinner the next night.

I have heard reviews that sometimes Clyde Frazier himself makes appearances and takes pics with every table, but not the night that we visited. I will say that you can probably get a seat just by walking in without a reservation. The service was good, we didn’t have much a wait between placing our orders and receiving them. If it wasn’t so far out of the way I would be inclined to go back and try it out again, but the location makes it hard to want to do that. If you are on that side of town, I always recommend trying things out for yourself and forming your own opinion, but at least now you have a starting point. Until next time Slayers!
