Millennium Tour 2020

Millennium Tour 2020

Hey Slayersss!! Back at it again with another millennium tour! I attended last year and it was so good to see B2K. This year the show changed up a bit, but kept most of their opening acts and added some new people including Sammie, Soulja Boy, Lloyd, The Ying Yang Twins, Pretty Ricky, and Ashanti. Headlining this time and replacing B2K were Omarion and Bow Wow. I was too hype and since I saw most of the people on the tour last year, I was mostly hype to see Bow Wow.

Sammie went first and he was really good. Is it just me, or does Sammie look tf good?! I did notice that he took his inner ears out, but still had an okay show with his vocals. I don’t know too many album cuts from Sammie, but I still enjoyed his performance. I would estimate his performance time to be about 20 minutes long which I thought worked perfectly for him.

Next was Soulja Boy and he has hits! However, his energy wasn’t up there. Now we all know he’s been a bit quiet on social media lately, but I was excited to dance to his songs. Even though his energy was down the crowd made up for it and sang every word. He even ended up bringing Sammie back out to sing Kiss Me Through the Phone.

Lloyd walked through the crowd and made his way up to the stage. He was the first person to come out that performed last year. I feel like this year he came out on a high note singing all of his hits. He slowed it down in the middle with some ballads before ending with some more uptempo songs. He was wearing a jumpsuit like last year, but this one had a pic of Nipsey on the back which I thought was a nice touch.

Time for the Ying Yang Twins! They were on tour last year as well and I was excited for them because they lit the crowd up last time. When they first came out, one of the mics wasn’t working but they finally got things going and we turned up. I will say that I think their show last year was a bit more hype, but I still enjoyed it.

Pretty Ricky made their way out next. Last year I thought their show was better than B2K and this year they put on another great performance. Earlier in the week Pleasure got arrested and I was hoping he would make the show and it reminded me why I purchased insurance because a performance without him wouldn’t have made sense. However, mics were a problem in this set as well, Pleasure kept walking off the stage, and they obviously had a mix up in which song was next because they introduced their new record then said never mind and went with a classic. Besides those things their energy is always there which always makes for an entertaining show. Then each member came out to do one verse from a song with Pleasure coming out last to perform some of his solo songs before they all came back on stage to close their set.

Ashanti was next and this is how I knew that we were getting close to the headliners. She came out in a red leather leotard and a fur cropped jacket. There was a belt around the leotard which also had her belt pack wrapped around it. The whole beginning of her set consisted of her performing but struggling with the belt coming loose and the belt pack falling. Eventually she took off the belt and belt pack and put on a show. Ashanti can sing and she showed us that night, but I would not consider her the best dancer. She did try her best and kept us into it. She even had a section where she brought some guys on stage and did a lap dance which I thought was cute. She had Lloyd come out and they sang a bit of Southside while I sang my little heart out, so that was enough for me.

Omarion was next and I had the idea in my head that he and Bow Wow would do a show where they would switch out back and forth. It wasn’t quite that way and Omarion was first. I wasn’t as excited about him since he did a mini solo set last year during B2K’s performance, but I still love his songs so I had a good time. Then he said “I’ll be right back” and ran off the stage. I was confused, but not too much since there were so many other acts walking off stage earlier. I just assumed that maybe there was a mic or sound problem. Then I heard Bow’s intro and started screaming my head off.

I was a Bow Wow fan since the day he came out. I went to every Scream Tour sometimes even twice in a year lol. Bow came out and commanded that stage like he used to back in the day. Every song he rapped I knew all the words to, and he didn’t even get to half his catalog! He kept the crowd into the performance before Omarion came back out to join him for Girlfriend and then they ended with Let Me Hold You. Soooo good!

I’m not even gonna hold you, the show was good. I do wish the Bow Wow had more time in his set because as I mentioned before he didn’t even get to half his catalog and it just went by too quickly. It was such a nostalgic moment and I’m so happy I have video footage so that I can relive every second. Since I’ve been to two Millennium Tours now I think I’m done, so I hope there won’t be another lol. I think for them to go out again it would probably be overkill unless the acts change. If you were able to attend the concert, comment below and let me know your thoughts. I also included some video footage below from the night. Til next time!
